Since 2019, avid runner Pete Barusic has invited runners/walkers to celebrate the summer solstice at Doggettville Farm in Summerfield.

The one-mile course will be open from sunrise to sunset (6:02 a.m. to 8:39 p.m.) Saturday, June 15, at 7962 Highfill Rd., Summerfield. A virtual option also is available.

The event is sponsored by Barusic’s In Between Seasons Coaching, LLC. Participants are asked to consider donating (a minimum of $10) to AuthoraCare, an organization dear to Barusic’s heart.

“You have the ability to come out and run/walk all day or come out whenever fits your schedule,” Barusic said. “You can run by yourself or with a team/family. The event is set up as a laidback way for us to come together in fellowship for all levels of runners/walkers.”
