Jodi Flick Talks to Families about Coping with Suicide Grief

(GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA) – The Counseling and Education Center at Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro (HPCG) will host Jodi Flick, clinical assistant professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, for an educational opportunity for family members coping with suicide grief on Monday, January 26, at 7 p.m. at the Lusk Center, 2502 Summit Avenue, Greensboro.
The event is free and open to adults, but registration is required.
Flick works with the Family and Children’s Resource Program at the Jordan Institute for Families. She is a faculty presenter for the North Carolina Area Health Education Centers (AHEC), addressing topics on suicide risk, assessment and intervention. Since 2009, Flick has volunteered as survivors of suicide loss support group facilitator in Chapel Hill.
“Losing a loved one to suicide is an experience that affects many people in our community,” said Marcia Vanard, director of the Counseling and Education Center. “Flick will offer her perspective, suggestions for coping and hope for healing in the aftermath of such a profound and difficult loss.”
