Cavanaugh Promoted to Director of Long-Term Care

Maureen Cavanaugh, RN, BSN, CHPN, has been promoted to director of long-term care. The position, previously held by Meghan Davis, will be the third promotion for Cavanaugh while working for Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro (HPCG). She will begin her new role on July 1.
Cavanaugh began her career with HPCG in 2009 as a long-term care nurse and was promoted to long-term care nurse manager in 2010. She has served in staff and supervisory nursing roles at Moses Cone Health System, Hospice of the Piedmont, Advanced Home Care and the Congregational Nurse Program in Greensboro. Cavanaugh is a registered nurse and received her bachelor of science degree in nursing from North Park University in Chicago, Illinois. Additionally, she received her certification as a hospice and palliative care nurse in 2012.
As a new member of the management and leadership council at HPCG, Cavanaugh looks forward to her continued work in long-term care communities. In her new role, she will have oversight of HPCG’s three long-term care teams, which are comprised of nurses, social workers, chaplains, CNAs and volunteers.
HPCG, a nonprofit organization serving Guilford County and surrounding areas for more than 30 years, is situated on an eight-acre campus at 2500 Summit Avenue. HPCG provides physical, emotional and spiritual support for children and adults faced with a life-limiting illness, as well as their caregivers and families.
