Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro Celebrates Professional Social Work Month
March 11, 2013
Who in your life do you consider to have strengths? The answer is simple. Everyone has strengths from which they can draw when times are difficult, and social workers can help build upon those ideas. Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro (HPCG) along with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) proudly announces national social work month.
This year’s theme – Weaving Threads of Resilience and Advocacy – emphasizes the value of using personal strengths and self-advocacy to manage serious life challenges. Understanding and utilizing these assets are essential to improving the emotional health and well-being of our community.
National social work month provides HPCG an opportunity to highlight the essential role social workers play in alleviating some of America’s most difficult problems. Caring for loved ones requires planning and support, but most families report not being fully prepared for the challenge or knowing how to access the support they need. HPCG is ready to give you more information about the benefits of hospice and palliative care, offer support, options and choices so that together, we can help you capture the moments that really matter.
HPCG, a nonprofit organization serving Greater Greensboro for more than 30 years, is situated on an eight-acre campus at 2500 Summit Avenue. HPCG provides physical, emotional and spiritual support for children and adults faced with a life-limiting illness, as well as their caregivers and families.
